I voted keyboards. Some nice rhodes and some basses all chromatically tuned would be the shiz.

this is probably roland's way of researching product development thru grassroots forums. i can't complain because rewind 10 or even 5 yrs ago and it was impossible to speak directly with someone who means something in a company. much thanks to mr.acosta, though i do agree the current sp users need some treats too 8)

There will be some treats coming for SP users which is why im gathering info on what SP users would like as far as free sound bank downloads.

I already have some stuff whipped up and im putting together some more.

This is NOT hype , if you check the MV forums ive done several drum kit downloads in the past as well as synth patches for the MFX Bass Synth.

As far as the software for the 404 , i asked to gather some info and relay it to Japan. Whether its something they can do im not sure but it was worth a shot for me to ask.

Good to have you onboard Mike, I'm definitely looking forward to those freebies. 8)

i have a question for mike.
there is so much speculation about a sp-707. of course it comes and goes.

but whaddya think? will we sooner see a mini mv or a sp-707?
let's see, the 555 came out about two years ago so that would put a new sp somewhere on the distant horizon, like say in the next two years???

and i'm not mad about the soft, i kinda guessed it was unlikely. BUT what would be nice is if they took our opinions into account when building the soft for the new sp-707 :D

and i'm honestly looking forward to the sounds.

hey bishojo, have u checked on what a fix would cost for the old sp-404? it's probably not so bad and you could at least have two sp's and run it through a mixer. i'll be looking into a possible fix for the 505 i just got off auction, it ain't broken but the knobs are dodgy and the screen is faded.

i don't mind being the supervillain on this - of course it's hype - anybody here knows that sampling 12 tones from a keyboard would take less than 10 mins.

what a joke - pretending it's some great "bonus"

I'm glad you mentioned the MV forum - roland clan forum, in'nit, mate?

no activity on 404s so thought you'd drum up something here?

my post still there unanswered -

"is the 404 main board the same as the one in 555?"

because nobody from roland wanted to comment there i decided i would be an absolute fool to lash out even more money on a 555 and have the same happen as my last 404.

I am sure many here would be very interested to hear the answer to that question as well.

i vote for some "girl screams" samples - obviously they are what make a dj in roland's eyes.

hi jb -

no you didnt get ignored - we must have been posting at exact same time or something - I got a quote to get it fixed - it amounted to 2/3rds price of a new one.

The repair guy asked if I fainted when i read the quote. I am using it for its A-B banks and effects and picked up another 404 and back into it.

At least the new one came with a power lead.

May be a joke to you , but to someone that knows how to really multi-sample and create some interesting sounds its not. Id love to see you create a multi-layered patch that consists of at least 5 hardware synths and or keys , sample at every 5th note , map it out properly , re-sample again with a dif velocity and then go back layer all samples together in 1 patch with multi velocity switch points in 10 min , yeah i dont think so chief.

Im taking some bigger sound design concepts and projects and sliming them down into the SP format. Im not just hooking up a Fantom to a SP and sampling " 12 tones ".

I never said anything about this being " some great bonus " and if its such a joke to you and all hype why are you even in here posting on this thread ?

Im here on my own time asking SP users what kind of sounds they would like to see as a free download. Simple as that.

Whether im here in this forum posting a response to some rude & ignorant post trying to stir up a forum rant or NOT. SP's still do very well and have plenty of activity.

What im doing here is called " End User Support " look it up sometime.

And as for your original question about the 404's main board ?

.................................. theres your answer mate !

have a nice day !

Maybe you dont get the answers you want because of how you ask them.

damn, that was a good comeback. I'm not even sure what that means, but it sounds complicated

insert girl scream = "yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy"

my question was put very politely on the roland clan forums and got nada...

funny, you only repeated that here.

thats called "predictable" look that up sometime.

Thank you for your example of end user support - if roland employs more folk like you we are indeed in great hands
