So i have had a 404 about a year, just got a 303 in them ail today

303 ftw

srsly

like alot of people say, the pads are more responsive, possibly because they are less weighted, but either way it makes me feel that much more on beat and gives it swing. I still love my 404 and they work well together, but if they made a 303 with the memory and number of pads same as a 404 it would be the greatest sampler ever.

(also it would need the DJFX loop effect or whatever and a floppy drive would be cool)

unfortunately I agree. The pads are the real deal on the 303. The pads on the 555 are pretty nice tho.

i would try to sell my 404 for a second 303 if the onboard mic still worked and if the rca input didn't get buggy

Agreed. I've owned both and the 303 has the better pads. I like the 8 pads over 12, makes it easier when setting up an external pad controller (they all have 16 pads). Oh and the 303 actually saves your bpm, huge annoyance on the 404. I do wish the 303 had the compact flash slot (or SD preferably) and some of the fx from the 404.

Get one of those $10 xD to SM adapters and you're golden (or a couple if you're rough with your gear).

That's the XD to SM Adapter. You can use it with XD cards instead of SM which I will be doing.

XD Cards? I thought it was a mistake cause x and s are close to each other... my fault... SM Cards go away from 1€ up to 25€ at ger's ebay. Are there any differences?!
I can't wait to hold this baby in my hands. *one more day*
Everbody gotta check Oleruds battle track... That 303 has power, no daubt! 8) SICK ASS BEAT! GO AND CHECK IT!!! I love that joint!

The XD cards are easier to find and generally cheaper. Though the prices on SM cards seem to be coming down.

Is it annoying that an adapter is plugged in right in front?
Thanks for the props Wax!

the adapter is not a problem, it sticks out a bit but not much...I had the 303 and to me, the pads on the 404 I got, a newer one, are not bad at all. I remembered them being way worse, but going from 303 to 404 was mo' better FOR ME. my 303 had issues...
