hi guys i'm so excited 'cause i've just payed an advance of 20 euros for a SP303 .Recently i bought an SP404 but reading this forum & seein' the videos on youtube i decided to have them both ! I know it's strange buying both the SPs but i've found a good offer.A 303 in mint condition with box ,3 cards ,manual ,no scratches or time sign ..absolutely nothing to notice!and it works perfectly.I gave the guy who sells it an advance of 20 euros to stop it for me,then i'll pay 160 euros all included..what do you think?it is a good price ?I know that the 404 it's more powerful & so on but the 303 it's out of production and maybe will be difficult to find another one like that..(the truth it's that i'm heavily G.A.S addicted

I think it's a good buy and it also kind of adds new things you can do now. You can make a pattern on one of the machines and sample it to the other for example. And you can apply two effects now.

Plus all the coolness value.

I've actually been considering doing the same thing. Waiting for my 303 to ship now and I've owned a 404 in the past. I think they would be a great team.

I remember I've seen a video of Shadow, Numark and Cut Chemist do this stuff together with mpc's and they had this crazy turntablist twist to it too. I just hope we'll see the SP-big band one day!

The 404 is a 24 bit sampler and the 303 is 20 bit so the 404 does have a more headroom. I would run a drum pattern on the 404 into the mixer and then add texture and instrument samples with the 303. That way the drums will be crisp and give you more space to fit in the warm 303 sounds.

I like my 303 a lot, but when you mix in the box the 404 gives you more room to work with. Man, now you gave me G.A.S.
