BY TIGHT I MEAN: LIKE A PAIR OF STRECH PANTS TIGHT TO THE ASS OF A BEAT.

ONE THING YOU NOTICE BETWEEN PRO CATS AND AMATEUR CATS IS THAT PRO SOUND SOUNDS MORE LIKE A WHOLE, MORE MUSICAL...

WHAT I DO TO MAKE SHIT TIGHT:

*** MY HINTS***

1# ALWAYS USE FINE-TUNNING (START/END/LEVEL) TO CHOP MY SAMPLES OR LOOPS, SO THEY'RE "tight".

2# CUT THE BEGINNING OF THE SAMPLE UNTIL IT SOUNDS AS IMEDIATE AS THE SOUND OF MY FINGER BANGIN THE WOOD TABLE.

3# IF THE SAMPLE HAS UNWANTED SHIT AT THE END, USE FINE-TUNNING AGAIN TO ELIMINATE IT.

4# USE QUANTIZE TO DROP YOUR STRUCTURAL DRUM SOUNDS. LIKE SNARE AND THE BANGIN' KICK DRUM ON THE ONES (1.1 / 2.1 / 3.1 / 4.1).

5# IT'S ALSO IMPORTANT TO KNOW THAT FOR THE SOUNDS BESIDES THE ONES MENTIONED IN THE LAST HINT, THE QUANTIZE OPTION IS VERY OPTIONAL. WHEN IT COMES TO MELODIC SAMPLES A MORE NATURAL POSITIONING OF SAMPLES IS USUALY MORE FRIENDLY TO THE EAR.
**BUT YOU CAN ALSO GET GOOD RESULTS DROPING MELODIC SAMPLES WITH QUANTIZE ON.

One thing I've found, if the CAPS LOCK light on your keyboard is on, your beats will be mad loose.

hoooooooooooo.

IS THIS CAPS LOCK A PAIN IT THE ASS OR WHAT?

THE THING IS: I'M AN INFORMATION MANAGER(THATS MY JOB) AND EVERYTHING I DO IS ON capitals AND I'M TOO LAZY TO HIT CAPS EVERY TIME I WRITE SOMETHING HERE.

CHECK THE "QUANTIZE, IS IT RELIABLE" POST FOR MORE INFO ON WHAT I THINK OF THE SUBJECT.

lol. seems caps pisses people off :P
just a stroke of the button aint hard? watever..not really important tho..back to the subject!
some reason i always quantize the melodic samples. usually i lay em out quantized...then re adjust the chops on em to keep shit smoothe. and then re bang the drums with quantize off so they land on the sample's timing. if thats a clear explanation. remember usually it all aint down to formula. Differant beats/samples require a differant method that suits it!

eyeballs can read lowercase easier than uppcase.. its a fact
another eye ball fact is that its easier to read black ink on slightly tinted paper that bright white... and you might reason the opposite
