you think i need a preamp???

hey guys my set up consist of the sp-555 m-audio Studiophile AV 30 monitors and the kaossilator i also use live 7 and reason sometimes but i mostly use the 555 and live 7 to record so just wondering if a preamp or a hardware compressor would warm my shit up or maybe just good ole practice will do hehe.

Not really necessary. Unless you could get a nice old tube preamp or something I wouldn't bother.

I use a tube preamp quite a bit, but mostly for guitar recording.

If you're mostly sampling its not really neccessary. Within Live 7 get to know the Dynamic Tube and Saturator effects to approximate the what i think you're looking for.
