Got my 404 yesterday and it's not letting me select banks c-j for recording/playing samples even though the flashcard is inserted. I noticed that the card is 2gb (the card came with the sampler)- is that the reason it may not be working?
Any help would be much appreciated.

with this sit. the problem is the 2gig card but if anyone else outt here has this problem with a card that should work... i have this one card and its a lexar 258mb , which lexar usually works fine but with this one card i have to insert the card while the machine is already on for it to be "Read" three dots flash in the display when it happens and also it showed me that you can switch cards without having the machine turned off, but i havent fucked with doing it while samples play or anything

kingston cf card does not work.
Well, I just got my sp 404 last week, and this afternoon I bought a Kingston 1gb card. I read somewhere on this forum that this brand would be a "generally safe choice". But it is NOT recognized by my SP! This sucks. I just opened the package and it is not working. Now I have to buy another one, because I'm running of recording space all the time...
It's difficult to get 1gb CF cards altogether, so if any of you guys know where (europe) on the internet to buy any of the cards tested by Roland (as mentioned in their manual) please send me the link...
Thanx for your help!
