when i wanna record a sample from my record player ihave to turn up my volume all the way then record it into the computer then i have to record it back into my 404 at a higher volume. sooo why is this? i want to record straight into my 404 via the built in rca cables from my record player.
It's because you're record player needs an amp to have full sound. Unfortunately the sp's don't have a pre-amp, so you'll have to run it though a receiver with an amp.

You can raise the input volume by assigning the isolator to the ext source.
just screw all CTRL to the right but take care of peaks...
it's not the best solution but it might help a bit...

that's true but the isolator don't "change" ( / compress) the incoming sounds - it's a frantic trick so yeah... must be good... It's like boosting the sound on a radio *all eq's up up up*

Preamp or a mixer with one built in. I got an ok dj mixer I can sell ya for like $25 + shipping. If your interested it's a Behringer DX052, I got no use for it atm.
That will work fine, I had the same problem and I lifted the plate off my cheap ass turntable and found a pre-amp switch underneath which boosted the signal to a normal listening/sampling level. $25 bucks for a mixer is a good deal.
