stick to herb and the occasional sip of bourbon.

If you removed the herb part of what you said, it'd sound like a government anti-drug propaganda campaign funded by alcohol companies!

Yes drugs can cause people problems. all drugs. No they dont cause problems in all users.

i understand drugs led you to a period of negativity, but that is not a fixed response all people have to all substances

warning people about the addictive nature of opiates is fine. so is telling us your story, that's relevant and definitely something we should all consider when we dabble with these powerful substances

but i don't think projecting your experiences with drugs onto everybody else's is a productive or useful way to discuss the issue

I gave my 2 cents. In no way was I knocking anyone elses opinion. I'm not trying to change anyones opinion, merely present my own, and you can choose to take what you want from it. I got no beef, just show me the same respect I give you.

On a side note. Do some research in to the things you put in your body. As a former employee of "Dance safe" (an organization dedicated to testing "club drugs" for dangerous adulterants) I happen to know a bit about the adverse affects of drugs. I've had some really dope experiences on drugs (no pun intended). Moderation is key. Stay safe.

i agree man

it just seemed you were coming across all "Just Say No!" for a bit, which we can all agree isn't the way to handle the issue

I used to smoke weed quite often over the past three years but since I got caught driving (not even under the influence but they found some thc in my urine and blood) and had to do all that probation shit for several months I quit for half a year and now I moved to another city to study and dont even get the occasion to smoke that often. I bought me a 15€ cluster to celebrate my new appartment but that's about it for a while I guess.
I don't miss it that much, I still would share some 2 or 3 joints on a party but I don't feel like doing it several days in a row. Just keeps me from doing something productive.

I've tried shrooms once but they didn't really kick in and I don't feel like they are the right thing for me to do. I fear that they'd fuck with my way of thinking - in a bad way.

Haven't tried any other drugs ever.
