pattern BPM issue / live performance

well, the short answer is that you can't.
in the same way that the SP- series will not save yr BPM when you turn off the machine, the 303 will not remember what pattern 1's bpm was, when you shift to pattern 2.
which is to say, if you make pattern 1 at 90 bpm, and patt 2 is at 120, when you switch back to patt one, its playing at 120 as well. or, conversely, if pattern 1 is 90, and you just hit "pattern 2", its just gonna play at 90bpm, regardless of what bpm it was at when you created it.
the way most peeps here get around it is making lots of notes. i made a little flowchart awhile ago that helps me, if you want me to dig out the link i shall.
i use the 404 in a solo setting. so the above is not insurmountable.
