Is this worth it for me?

Post by spgphilly »

I have been thinking of a sampler for my set up for a while and this model seems to be the most popular one on the market. I currently use a microkorg, a few multi effects units, guitar and bass. The thing is that I do not make beat music, ; I make power electronics/noise music (think Whitehouse). Would this actually be a useful tool for me?

if you are talking about the sp-404, yeah it's amazing for layering sounds, creating drones or whatever you can think of. one thing i don't like about it though is that the pitch bend does not slow down or speed up a sample, it just detunes it. if you are more for experimental stuff, definately go with the sp and forget about an mpc, in my opinion.
