SP-606 Output volume is very low.... bad box?

This is starting to annoy me now. No matter what I try and do the SP-606's out put volume is sooooo low. I honestly have to have it to max to hear anything. Even through a Keyboard amp.

Are you using the Digital Output? If yes, then it should not cause problems.

There are settings inside the SP-606 that set the output volume though, did you check those?

No I am not using digital outs. Just the standard 1/4 outputs. How do I adj the output volume. I looked around mastering screen and couldnt really find much

I think it's in the system menu. I don't have a SP606 anymore, but I think it's under the Menu button and then System if memory serves me well. If it's not, I'd look it up in the manual, as I'm pretty sure you can in fact change the output volume.

Page 82 of the manual shows the master level setting. It says that it is NOT remembered across power cycles, though.

The volume of the analog outs IS lower than other gear.
I believe they do this to leave headroom for the FX & mastering.
Try using the Isolator, boosting the frequencies, then activate mastering. Go into Mastering & raise the low & High a few points.
After doing the above actions you should be loud.
