MPC 1K / midi-notes aren't in order / how to...

Post by wax inspektor »

Hey everybody I got a little problem on my MPC 1K. I'll try to describe...
I got a Miditrack BUT the midi notes aren't in the correct order.
(Mode+Program; NOTE)

e.g. PAD 1-4 = 37 (c#1), 36(c 1),42 (F#1), 82(A#4) and so on...

it's not that big deal to bring them in the correct order but isn't there a way to save that shit? Things don't change even if I press RESET. Seems like this my default setup. How can I change this? Hope ya understand...
I don't wanna save an empty project, which I have load up on every start.
I want to switch on the mpc with all midi notes on their right place... Must be possible or whut?! Any suggestions?

(Is that new JJOS really that good? (4.xx) I got no Paypal yet, so I just wondered if it's worth it. I'm running JJOS 3.06 right now...)

I've spent a lot of time on that box during the last dayz, but to be honest most of times when I put a beat from the 404 into mpc; thing just getting worse BUT I'm not giving up... I mean even if I use the same sounds and rebuilt the same pattern, shit isn't the same.

Last Q: Any expierences with mpc-stuff.com ?
I never bought anything from the us and I just wanted to know if they are
reliable? Is there a shop in europe that sells faceplates and stuff?

I sorta gave up on my MPC because everyone and their mother has one and I wasn't as creative with it as I am with the 404.

I haven't heard of nor used mpc-stuff.com

When I used to use midi with the MPC, you need to go into the notes section and manually set them, let's say on chromatic order. Then just save the program as Chromatic or whatever you would like to name it. ( make sure there are no samples on the program, just the notes)

So now when you are going to control something, you set your option to midi, and load the chromatic program. Badabing badabom

Yeah man. There is no way it will ever be exactly the same, mainly because of the different sound engines. The MPC sound engine sort of molds the sounds into something different by default.

People tend to call this the 'MPC sound' and the machine gets hyped a lot because of it, but really it's more just a convenient byproduct of the sound engine than anything really special. 8)
