SP 555 Effects Got Me Down??!?

i got a 404, love it.

i want a 555, cuz it's got the little things that make my workflow so much easier.

but there's one thing holdin me back.

i love the vinyl compressor on the 404. i use it a lot.

is there anything on the 555 that compares, i prefer that subtle sound it has, the regular one is a little sharp.

But you can keep the 404 just for that its actually pretty fresh to use the 2 machines together. Alot of advantages. Just save a bit more and keep both ! and when civilization crumbles you can use your 404 on scrounged up batteries !

yeah, i've thought about that, but idk if i got the money to do that. that would be the ideal situation though.

It might not be possible to make a mini solar panel that is adapted to the battery pack on the SP-404, then you can go Bear Grylls with style rhythm after civilization crumbles.

well, i think what i might do is try and trade my 404 for the 555 or sell, and then maybe buy one later down the road when i get a job (i'm 16).

well if your 16 then the battery power is essential ! to it school and make beats instead of paying attention to your teachers nonsense I would say just save up. Watch for deals on craigslist and whatnot. Or sell other stuff like your TV or video game system.

555 comes with lot of spiced up features... but I dont´t wanna miss 404 as mobile sound- library (cool to make beatz out of street-noize...), as well as for its more neutral (and expandable) drum-presets,etc.....
TOGETHER..they´re an extra dimension, like "959"~ Cheers!
