Looping Probs

Post by ZNDK17 »

Im triying to figure out why my drum break doesnt loop right when I record it. Im recording in 90 bpms and yea thats the same bpms as my break. It always sounds like when it is gonna play back, it cuts up faster and it sounds off a bit. When i press the pad with the break on it and put it on loop mode, it sounds perfect, so why doesnt it sound good when I record it...thnx

Because the bpm's on the 404 are not exact and rarely are any songs exactly whole numbers when it comes to tempo. Unless the loop is from the sequencer of the machine you are using.

Well if you sample in mono for you drum chops then that will help with polyphony. Are you sequencing the drum chops or playing them back live with other samples?

sequencing them up, I dont know maybe im just bugging out man cuz I haven't really messed around with the 404 in months but now its harder 4 me to make loops and they seem off alot, like the drums.

Maybe all you have to do is isolate each of the chopped sounds a little more with the knobs. When you throw some samples over the top it'll blend a little better so don't be discouraged. I find almost every beat I make is a little off from what I want it to be, but nothing is perfect.
