What do you think is the best way to clean "tape goop" of audio cables & gear? You know. The schmeg that's left after removing ancient stickers, masking, gaff, or duct tape- off especially chords.

I know goof off takes everything off- just wondering what the think tank knows.

Goo-Gone is the one I've used and it works great. I picked it up at Ace Hardware. I think it's pretty much exactly the same as goof off though...

Yeah, most likely the same active ingredient.

depending on how much gack you gotta get rid of, tape can actually pull that stuff up.

you just use the sticky side, press it against the schmeg, and peel back. gotta do it a few times, but i've done this to get rid of duck tape gack, price tags, etc.

packing tape works best.
