Or you can just edit the results of the autochop. The 606 has quite good sample editing facilities, so it's pretty easy.

To edit a sample on a pad after you've chopped it up using auto-chop, press [ func] and [sample loop edit] , then press the pad you want to edit, then you will get the possibility to set the [start] and [end] points of the sample and using [truncate] you can cut pieces off of both the end and start depending on what you've adjusted.
Just let us know in case you're still having difficulties with this.
I wonder if it is possible (I recon not) to adjust the slicepoints before you save the chop´s (slices) to a bank. I have a SP-606.

Unfortunately it's not possible to adjust the slicepoints, I'd really wish it would be possible though.
The work-around takes a bit more time, but eventually gets the job done. Just resample the entire sample to as many pads as you need and then [sample loop edit] the sample.
yes, definitely true. It depends a bit on the sample you're trying to chop, but in my experience I tend to throw quite a few things away from the original auto-chopped stuff (as in mostly chopped parts on pads I never ever will use).
