yamaha cs-80

Post by jbl »

hey i was searching through synths at bluesynths.com and found this piece. supposedly it's huge, hard to tune, hard to find and unreliable BUT sounds great. maybe one of the best sounding synths ever.

on the same site a read that it was the primary synth for the Apocolypse Now soundtrack. i found this out after i picked up the entire movie on vinyl the other day in pristine condition for 315 yen.

it's two records with all the dialouge, but i don't know if it has the background music or not since i haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. i just got my player back yesterday (lent it to friend and you know how hard it is to get people away from that vinyl sound.)

anyway, just a heads up of where to get the yamaha cs-80 sound for less than a couple a grand. hey and no tuning.

YES!
it does have that synth and it's quite obvious. i'm so glad it's not just dialouge. i have been finding some good stuff for cheap lately. i'll post some of my finds here in the next few weeks.
