001 rock the vote!
here's the deal. DJ Frantic and juxt were the only two to get their's in on time, therefore they are the only ones who can really win. i'm adding myself to the poll though cause i put in mad work. =) however, only juxt and DJ Frantic can win.
that said, i hope whoever wins gives us a 3 week deadline. =)
only vote once!
don't vote for yourself!
i loved seeing how we each flipped this track. can't wait for round 2...
btw i voted for DJ Frantic. juxt, i liked yours and it sounded really professional, but i felt like you could have changed it up more after a couple minutes. i'm gonna get the entries up on my site!

I voted for DJ Frantic. It was actually a hard decision with me, i went back and forth listening to the soundclicks and myspace. But I decided Frantic cause he had some change ups in there and I generally enjoyed his version much better (not to discredit the other contestants). Everybody had something different, which I liked.. diversity within the minds. a good thing lol. anyway, theres my vote, and i have a good excuse for not being in the battle.... because i dont own a sp! lol (yet, i think i got another job). anyway, good shit guys. keep doing your thingamajigy
this was a hard call...
all three beats had unique qualities, and all have a distinctly different vibe. it's great to see that despite all 3 of you using the same sample (and only the that sample) there can be such diverse moods created in each beat.
Juxt - you got a really mellow feel here, and the parts you selected to sample match the vibe perfectly. that looping voice that first comes in at about 55 seconds is great, and those horns are the shit.
Frantic - nice and upbeat and like billyboy said, perfect for rhymes. i really like the 'grinding' effect in your track, it gives it a really nice percussive flow. also the chorus section sounds mad and flows perfectly from the verse section
iG9 - i'm really digging what you've done with the instrumental stabs here, especially the 'scratch' effect you've got on the bass notes. despite the minimal drums, there's a definite groove here - nice and slicey.
congrats to all three of you, you've worked the 404 like true producers
it's a hard call, but my vote goes to JUXT for laid back groove (plus i'm a sucker for horns and vocals)
i've got some free time coming up so bring on the next battle !

hey guys i got a fixed version of my track up if anybody wants to hear it. i recorded it at the right level and fixed a couple minor performance glitches. not trying to influence anybody i just hate having shit on display that doesn't sound pro, ya know? anywho...
