Some newbie questions, please help!!!
I just got a couple of questions about my sp since I gotta put it to good use since I had to evacuate my city due to devastation caused by Gustav . First can someone give me some insight as to why I can't successfully use my cf card to transfer samples via a usb cf reader and th card keeps saying empty, not sure what I am doing wrong. also, can someone give me just the basic steps to sampling/beatmaking with it because I hadn't really used it outside of being a controller for my software and I just need to work on something to keep my mind off of things, really appreciate any help/tips/advice you guys can give, thx in advance. also any place I can get kits from as well, sorry about the grammar/spelling, doing this on my phone.
hey man
i don't use a SP-606 so i can't answer those questions, but if you're looking for drum kits
check The Library: viewforum.php?f=14
lots of goodness in there, from lo-fi to 808s etc
good idea to make some beats while you're out of town, keep your mind occupied. hope you and your family are safe, peace

You definitely need to nerd out with the manual:
http://lib.roland.co.jp/manual/en/dl_04 ... 606_e4.pdf
It explains how to do everything & with the CF card you need to do it exactly like they say or it won't work right.
The card transfer action on the 606 is not very robust & takes forever- so I like sampling my audio direct. Like even if you had a bunch of WAVs, you could chuck them into a media player then 'listen' through the 606 & sample what you like--
Bless up
