cosign.

I would like 4 tracks of midi seq... more swing options & ability to quantize after laying down your pattern. And a song record mode for recording pattern changes across the 4 seq tracks.

also agree on the addition of a sample mute function.

Cosign track mute and especially song mode. Can't believe I forgot that one.

Heck yes, song mode and all the SP606 pattern copy stuff is definitely needed in a 707! Perhaps even some more features would be nice.

and i really can do without d beam i dont use it does anyone here really use it??

yeah i use it a decent amount. more for the filter than the synth, but it's more powerful than people give it credit for. yes it's limiting to have a synth with only 8 voices, but the scale and key are adjustable so with some tweaking you can fit it into almost any song. i also use the synth with loop capture to make trippy, droning loops.

that said, if the d-beam was a standalone unit, i wouldn't buy it.

applying effects to the synth also opens up some pretty cool possibilities.

I'm a big D-Beamer. LOve it. Try using it on filter mode more often (HPF, or LPF)- if you're recording a loop-based track you can filter in & out of 'changes' like no other controller. Or y'know when you get the delay going & it starts to get outta control, the D-Beam on filter mode tames it nicely.
Live or in the studio a new bigboy SP gots to have it!

if my 404 had good pitch shifting,a few more voices of polyphony, better reverb, and swing functions i'd be a happy man.also maybe a different method of marking a sample-as opposed to having to play an entire sample out when you resample it-like on the zoom sampletrack, you can just spin a wheel to get to wherever you want in a sample,it takes like 1 second.but like was said earlier, adding every feature anyone could possibly want would just make it an mv..and it wouldnt be a "budget' sampler anymore.still,i really think the first 4 things i listed above should be a given with any sampling drum machine.

Pitch pitch pitch pitch pitch !!! and a scaling function to go with it. I would like a screen as long as I still have my mark button. That way I can easily fast forward through whole songs and long samples. Itd be dope if u could set mulitple mark points also. and assign them to new pads. A "real" sequencer would be nice too.

What adru said about being able to ff & rewind samples. A while back I posted a bit of a workaround. Basically if you have a really long sample and the part you want is on the last half, reverse the sample and resample however much you need to another pad. Then you just reverse the resampled pad and you've got the last bit on a pad by itself. This works to a point, but the resample obviously degrades the sound a bit, and it'd be slicker built in.

Ya, I use that...very helpfull but still not quite as nice as a true FF and RW...oh yes and I did forget panning. Thatd be nice.
