so I'm making some delicious pasta for lunch. Turn on the burner to boil some water. Wait 15 minutes... go back to move an empty sauce pan to a different burner... grab the pot that was supposed to be cold... hear sizzling and smell burning skin just as my fingers tell my brain "DANGER! FIRE B*TCH! MOVE YOUR HAND FOO!" AHHHHH!! All the skin on my hand is white... now I'm white anyway, but this sh*t looks like i spilled whiteout all over my hand. The top layers of skin are crispy like potato chips.

I'm an idiot... in my haste to fulfill my hunger, i turned on the wrong burner. Heating the wrong pot. It's my f*cking works fault, all the burners knobs are opposite of the ones I have here at my home.

The pain. Christ! I'd punch something if I could make a fist.

I once burnt my hand while ironing (which i never do anymore!) and noticed that a cold beer (bottle or pint) in hand helps a lot. I also tried wearing a wet cold glove but that beer thing was much more comfy..

This is the stuff that doctrors won't tell ya.

Two years ago I burnt my hand while trying to open the expansion tank for cooling liquid in my car. Yeah I know...EL STUPIDO... actually I was doing it quite often as engine tend to cook at least once a week.
I was used to do this but this time I was in rush and SH*T.. 7X7 cm area of skin was literally washed away...what a pain...

Than I called firefighter brigade and asked what they use to soothe the pain at first aid and the tell me they use Burnshield Hydrogel Burn Gel

This gel really helps

damn homie... I feel your pain. I've done the same thing cooking with a pot that had a metal handle... to a lesser degree, but I was still cursing whoever made the all-metal stove top pot. My wife laughed at me and that made it feel much better [sarcasm like a mofo]...

best wishes for a rapid recovery!!! 8)

the good news is, i have no more fingerprints on my left hand...

the bad news is... the burn was so bad that it doesnt even hurt, the nerves are dead, and my skin is ironed smooth so i cant even hold on to a piece of paper.. ive lost my natural grip

haha.. could be worse.. it could hurt still. Also I got the day off after my work saw how bad it was. Apparently they didnt want me around food.

:(

dang...sorry to hear that meng. As long as u can still bang beats its all good tho !

I remember once I was wearing sandals in my grandfathers back yard and I walked over what I thought was dirt...but turned out to be a pile of hot ash ! (from a big cuban style BBQ pit he had) That was probably the worst pain I ever felt in my life.
