i didnt really wanna put up another one of my stupid question posts,but it seems i cant get a certain forum member to answer his damn phone,lol..
im getting an e-mu 0404 interface in a couple days-i mainly need this for vocal recording,and to track my beats with midi.but since the sp only has midi in,(the interface has one midi in and 1 out)do i need some other piece of equipment to do the whole midi into the interface,into the computer thing?i'm really confused as to how it would work.if someone could please let me know the simplest way to do this let me know,i'd appreciate it a lot.thanks...1

so you're trying to go computer>404>computer? i'd imagine you could just run rca outs from the 404 back into the 1/4" in on the emu.

No you don't need another anything... With the Emu 0404 ( I use to have one, but I know them very well).. You will just need to connect the Midi in of the Sp to the Midi out on the Emu 0404. The Emu will then send a message to start and stop the Sp as long as you set it up correctly. So your Sp will play in time with your other sequencers,synths, drums whatever you want it to play along with ( DAWs, Sonar, Cubase, etc..) basically this is so you can track your Sp into your PC, which alot of peeps want.. so you should be fine.. HOWEVER the patchmix will fuck your mind up for sure, so please be familiar with patch cords.. Emu is know for their great in-depth patch cords.. God I love Emu shit... Hit me up when you get to that point..
