how are you finding that Kaossilator fauna?

when you've had a good play with it, i'd be interested to hear your opinion

seems to be a nifty, expressive device - nice and portable too!

sure, will do - but so far i'm impressed. i played around w/ someone else's first - you need to know if you can use their included sounds, cuz i don't think you can manipulate them in the k-os. of course, the 404's fx would do for that....

but so far i'm really enjoying it. while it does feel like a toy in some ways, i have come up w/ stuff that feels artful. i will mess around for 20 minutes and turn it off. then 5 minutes later i'm back at it. that was my whole day. heh. little beat, bass, pads, build-up-build-UP! off.

i will know more w/ time, and when i try to incorporate it into the rest of the gear / set. will update.

From really small to full backpack :

1-harmonica in the pocket
2-xaphoon
3-SP404 and headphones+MP3 player full of sounds+xaphoon
4-SP404 and headphones+MP3 player full of sounds
+microX + xaphoon + trumpet + dynamic mic
(And yeah it all fits in a backpack, but you got to find someone who accepts to carry your clothes and toilet bag in his backpack...)

When my family goes to vacation I always take some gear with me.
I fill up a flightcase that is made for Alesis ADAT.
And I take:
Roland D2
Korg Electribe EA-1
Yamaha CBX K1 XG (mini midi keyboard)
Mackie/Tapco 6306 mixer.
Shure 58 beta
Beyerdinamic DT 990 pro
Cables
ganja
this year a Roland SP-555 will be with us too.

lol and lol.
Pretty much the same...id go SP404, PT01, maybe a MicroKorg (Did i read somebody in this topic say this is a Rompler?!? or did i read that wrong?). I wouldn't worry about records...id backpack around the joint staying in crappy hotels and digging in record stores around the world. then just pawn em off when the heat is extracted ;) . lol....some trees would be the icing on the cake...but id be able to find some somewhere...maybe if i was backpacking through amsterdam......
