Some Lo-Fi Drum Kits

Post by ghost bazz »

Waddup SP fam? Hope all is well out there in beatmaker-land...

Here are links to some drum kits I sampled from my Yamaha RM1x... all are mono with various amounts of lo-fi added. Each kit had a ridiculous amount of hits so I picked my favorite 16. I'm not normally a kit-type-dude... but I've had this yamaha box just sitting for a while now, and the times I've used it I've really been impressed... so I figured I'd cop some sounds off it and share with the community. Any feedback is appreciated. Keep bangin! 8)

i love how the SP processes drums, such a nice flavour of grime

you got a 555, right?

i'm gonna record some lo-fi hits from my QY-70 into my 404 later on, i'll share 'em when i'm done

right on man! the SP does flavor em up nice.

yeah... i have a 555. that QY-70 looks pretty cool... is it still in production? seems like yamaha offers a more limited product line in the states than what they have overseas... is that right, or am i wrong about that?

i think they stopped making the QY range, i got mine second-hand about a year ago but there seem to be a few on the local eBay. Yamaha does seem to have stopped developing grooveboxes/samplers etc....seems to only make mixers, speakers, keyboards now which is a shame 'cos they had some really good machines (an200, su700, rm1x etc) which would have some great newer models now if they'd kept developing them

no doubt. I've got gear lust issues over the rs 7000... that thing looks so sweet. I would love to add either one of those, or a 909 to the studio!
