Need help Setting up SP 606 with FL Studio 7-HELP!!!!!

Post by monsta70767 »

What's Good, everyone, I'm New to this site and was told the this is the best site to go on for new and advanced users of the SP 606, so I really need your help. Here's the thing- I just got a SP 606 used and I am having problems trying to set it up with FL Studio, I d/d the drivers but I think something's wrong with them in my opinion cause it still doesn't show up in my midi options box like everything else does, plus I would like to know what I should be doing to sample from my usb turntable that has rca outputs to sample into the SP and then route the chops into FL,can I do that ? Also, do I need to install that P606 program as well to get it to work, cause I tried that and still nothing-pls help, I really would be grateful to get started and I don't want to feel like I wasted my hard earned money either-thanks in advance and be blessed....

p606 is not needed.

if you installed the drivers right the when you pres F10 in FL studio to get to your midi options itll show up in the controller baox followed by generic controller in parenthesis. if not re-install the driver.

if you have a usb turntable the rca's most likely need a phono hook up which in turn boosts the signal. w/o having to by a mixer the cheap alternative is a phono preamp made by BBE that i myself use. purchased from guitar center for around thirty bucks. from there on

when it comes to importing chops go to your mixer and select a free input.
notice how on the right side @ the top you have IN which probably says none. then you have OUT at the bottom. MUTE everything first in case you get it mixed up but:

1. got to your audio settings and switch it to ASIOALL v2
2. go to menu on your SP606 and hit #4 usb audio
3. turn INPUT SW OFF... turn OUTPUT SRC to MIX
4. go to FL STUDIO back to the mixer
5 turn IN to roland sp606 1/2 (stereo sound)
6. turn Out to the same thing.
7. hit a pad and the mixer should bounce.
8. open edison on the mixer tack you selected hit a pad and shyt yourself CUZ IT WORKS!!!!!

let me know if you need more help...peace

Well I do appreciate the advice, which I fully intend in to use(bookmarked it ,actually) but here 's my problem-I d/led the drivers form Roland's website, and when i try open/install them, I keep getting stopped right when they ask you to select a folder where the driver is at, and it keeps acting like its the wrong folder, can someone please help me cause i have lost sleep over this, and got to the point where i am ready to smash that thing on the floor, for real.

save the drivers to your desktop. when it asks for that r...... folder , click browse hit desktop and open the 606 drivfers... click on xp2k (assuming that thats what u have) and it should be right there and after that u have about 2-3 mins left on install. that should take care of it

Nah, none of that's working- I tried to rename it, turned off all my firewalls, and i went through and uninstalled any drivers i though were the problem-nothing absolutely. i am so disgusted right now that i could just SCREAM and smash this junk on the floor over and over again. It keeps stopping right when i go to the folders part-not cool.

@ this point its probably better to put in a call to roland techs. ..

only thing i can think of is making sure ur os is up to par... you know what if u have xp with sp3 check to c if there were any issues because there are software drivers that will only function with sp2.

hope u do get it right cuz thats a huge chunk of fun ur missing out on...
