broken knob

Post by perplexingcj »

I just got a used sp303 a few days ago. I found these forums while looking for a place to download the user manual.

While messing around with the unit, I noticed that my control knob #3 (far right) has problem. It has to be "pushed" towards the top/back of the unit in order to function.

Has anyone else dealt with this before? I'm guessing its from lots of use, or a little misuse, but can it be fixed easily or at all? On first impression it seems to be a pretty important knob.

Also, can the knobs be controlled externally via midi? I have a midi controller/keyboard with some knobs, would it be possible to assign one of those to the control #3 of my 303 to bypass the faulty knob?

Sorry, nothing worse than a newb with a broken unit, but any help/input is appreciated.

sorry to hear homey,

which knob is broken ?

and knobs unfortunately can not be controlled via midi.

if its the far right should be no biggie, i mastered a 303 with glitchy knobs and no display,

gives you a bit of a chanllenge and helps you learn to slap those marks on.

yeah that happened to my ctrl 1 knob but i had to pull it to get it to work. i think it came from being pushed inward durring travel. not realy much you can do as far as i know besides just work around it.
