Hi there,
Is it possible to use Roland's FC-50 foot controller to start/stop samples or patterns on my SP-404? I've read the FC-50's manual but I'm new to MIDI and I'm not sure it'll do?
If not, would the FC-200 do it? It seems to have more possibilities for assigning events to a button.
Thanks in advance,
Laurent

Replying to myself:
I asked Roland's tech support and they explained the FC-50 only sends events while the SP-404 expects MIDI notes. The FC-200 or FC-300 (more expensive) will work with the SP-404.
Now, I'm stubborn and I found these DIY MIDI projects at http://midibox.org. With about 50 bucks of hardware and a little bit of C programming (there are plenty of examples) I'll be able to build a MIDI filter box that will take the MIDI events that the FC-50 generates and turn them into MIDI notes that the SP-404 accepts.
I'll keep you posted...
