Need your help! Brainstorming sessions

Post by cartesia »

I'm moving house,
I don't own a car

I'm not particularly keen on my current job and it wont be near where I'm moving for.

I work retail, I was wondering if you guys could think of some more interesting non-skilled work. . I dont mind anything really, I'm not much of a salesman or hospitality type person though.

I would like something a little more individual, less corporate-juggernaut - even if the pay rate isnt so good. Maybe something that helped the environment/society/etc would be cool.

Would need to be earning at least AU$200 a week

So I'm hoping all your combined experience there would be some good bizarre jobs you've done that you could recommend?

get into a recycling facilaty (sp) you see all types of shyt dependings on the business like crack heads that go round stealling metal to sell to you and the occasional hot tree hugging chick. 8) . i did it for 3 yrs and lost 25 lbs during the summer.

or bus tables at a bar... both equally dope

What about nightwatchdude, waiter, pizza deliverer (that's what I do right now *g* maybe you could find a place where you can drive with their cars or scooters) or something like that? Don't forget the tip when you're working at restaurants.

People rarely tip here. . its not expected unless its a very high class restaurant. . I have encountered it in Sydney, but certainly not in Adelaide.

On the other hand, people actually get paid decent wages in australia

I drive chinese food delivery and I love it. The way it works at my spot is I get paid per delivery and I get my gas covered. When theres no deliveries I chill online or play with 404. Not exactly sure if u can find something like that around there but theres a couple spots like that around here.

Also, Its a bit of a corporate giant...and im not sure if u guys got em there...but my wife works at starbucks and its actually a really cool job. I got and spin at her job every now and then they are really open to stuff like that and are really flexible and give good benefits.
