Hey guys. I was just wondering how you users of the 404, or even the 303, use your sampler. More specifically, what sounds do you load it up with on how many different cards, are they organized cards or randomized, and how do you use it for beat creation?
I have mine set up with my cards organized: one card for drums, one for hits and stabs, voices, Etc. I always leave bank a and b blank. Then i go through sounds and put the ones I want to use on banks a and b, then grab a blank card and import the sounds on other banks. My song/ pattern card. I also have a sheet ( four-oh-four flowchart) that i keep all song info on. When I am not using just the sampler, I connect reason to it and use effects. also use it for djing, I.E.: samples, loops, effects.
Let everyone know what you guys do. Knowledge is power.

I have a similar system to you, well at least i tried to for a bit, and then i got lazy and now my system is chaos. i have about 10 cards with sounds everywhere, so now i have pretty much a card for each project and drum sounds on a and b cause they are pretty universal. Then i have a show card that i transfer things to so i only have one card for each show.
I must admit tho that my system sucks, so i think i might use yours, but doesnt it get annoying transfering all these sounds each time.
Also what size cards are you using, cause mine are really small, all 128mb or 256mb.

In a sense, yes it can get annoying. But I do have a couple of methods I use to save time. One is certain sounds that I use alot (certain Drums) I put on every card. It saves tons of time in the long run. I make my own drums. I dont have many. I use usually the same drums that i made and tweak them differently to flow with the track. Works like a charm and many people never know that they are the same drums from another track.
Also after doing it for so long, I know where most of the sounds i am looking for are, so its not to much of a hassle, I usually already have want I want to use playing in my head. when im fiddling, its 50-50. Im just fiddlin so im not tryin to get something done, but when something good does come along, thats when the transferring sucks because sometimes i lose track of what or where i was going with it.
Sorry for the long post. Hope it helps!
