Get a CF/SD Card reader for your PC - I just picked one up for $12 and it's the ducks-guts for file transfer to and from the SP-606.

Take the card out of the SP, chuck it in the reader and presto, super-quick file transfer. The "mass storage mode" of the SP is only USB 1 (slow) and the reader is USB 2 (fast).

So far, so obvious. It's gets cooler when you use SD cards on the other side of the little reader. I got a 4-gig SD card, made 7 Directories on it; called 'card 1', 'card 2' etc.

Now, my one CF card has become 7, and with super fast file transfer it's painless to swap sample-sets! Yay!

1x512 CF card + 1x4gig SD card + reader = all the cards you need!

Did you partition the card or did you just put folders in it?

Yeah soz about the 'ancient computer speak' .... what cartesia said.

Make a folder for each 'card'.

Technicolorbob - I've seen that name around - are you a shuffler?

Since everyone in this thread seems to be aussie - I'll tell you that the reader came from good 'ol ALDI. Go get it.

I have a family to support so I'm an ALDI fan. The other supermarkets (which are not aussie owned anymore anyway) need some competition. Aussies pay WAY more than our fellow first-worlders for groceries. It's like our super-slow internet and ultra-crap cable TV.

Politicians really think we are a bunch of know-nothings who don't have any idea we are being ripped off

606man - Nah I'm not a shuffler but I do do VJ'ing (live visuals) around some Melbourne venues. I also entered that pioneer DJ/VJ competition a few months ago so you might have seen the name there.
