just wondering...

Post by cartesia »

just a short little clip of a work in progress

do these sounds sound cool to you or have i been eatin too much fungus lately...?

The drums are just a loop as a placeholder till i get round to it,
at the moment I'm just experimenting with the other sounds - lots of resonance etc. . . most of the sounds in this song actually come from drum samples that have been severely twisted.

keen to hear what you crackheads think :P

these synths sound tight man, really nice and squelchy...i can hear the fungal influence, the resonance is spot on. i like the flam/stutter you've got on that second synth. when you do the drums properly maybe some different drum tones would fit the synths better than the placeholder ones, but i'm sure you're on top of that

post the track when you've finished, i'm keen to hear where it goes

WOW, just WOW!

I love the synth sound - cannot wait for the thumping beat to kick me in the head. Psy FTW

If you don't post the finished track the melbs boyz will come and take it!! j/k

Psy FTW
 My thoughts exactly

the breakbeat is gone,

currently constructing a chest-pounding psy kick.

added some more synth layers,

should have somethin more to show you guys tomorrow. (found some weed in an old stash spot I forgot about!.... )

The missus loved it! I showed her last night and she thought the same as me - can't wait for the huge kicker and maybe a straight-sixteenths bassline to come in... it's gonna be a thumper

cartesia - keep the breakbeat! just run it throug a high-pass and layer it over the kick (the missus loved the break - you keep the women happy on the dancefloor! that's the rules!!). Psy needs about 700 layers of percussion anyway so just use it as one of those

 man that must have been some sub-conscious "save this for a rainy day" type of trick your mind has played on you
i'd like to think i've got some vintage buds secretly stashed away somewhere, but in reality i tend to burn them before they get saved for posterity

how's the track coming along?
