EQ freq

Post by balazs »

does anybody have any idea what freq the lo- mid- hi for the eq effect is approximantly. I'm usually the kinda person to say if it sounds good then it is, but mixing thru headphones can be decieving.

ive been wondering that myself. The low end seems to empasize the bottom of the kick drum alot. and the hi seems to bring out the sizzle in hi hats and such.

Yeah mixing on the 303 with headphones can lead to overpowered bass frequencies on higher powered systems like cars with subs and an amp. But I make music for people that will most likely listen to it on headphones on underpowered speakers so it doesn't bother me to much.

Run a sound through the EQ, out into a computer, and through a Spectrum Analyser, such as Voxengo SPAN (frreeee).

Turn up each knob and see which freq gets the boost... 8)

I don't have a 404, but I'll do it on the 606 (they are probably pretty similar).

I don't know, but I know one thing:

This is different on the 303 vs 404.

I noticed that one day trying to bring out the bass in a sample on both machines.
