SP-therapy

Post by balazs »

I started chemotherapy today. I been wanting to make an album/journal where I make a beat (or more than one if i can) while I'm in the process of getting the chemo (about 3 or 4 hours). I sample the record(s) into the SP the day before. I'm going 5 days a week and then 2 weeks off then another 3 rounds. I dont know if I'll be able to keep making beats if I feel too sick down the road, but I'll try. I'm gonna keep editing my post with more links. Keep in mind I'm mentally fucked up and I dont have a lot of samples on hand so it may not be the greatest - any feedback appreciated

Great sample choice, I like what you've made from it. Pretty fresh and I'm envious of your drum style in general. I'm not saying this because you are getting chemo now, I mean it.

I sincerely hope you get through this and beat the cancer, I think doing it by making beats is an awesome way to do exactly that. Whenever you're feeling down, just remember it's not impossible to beat this sht.

Yeah... I know... what the f do I know, I'm not in your shoes... I'm not going to pretend to know how you must feel right now... but I know it must really suck beyond infinity.
I do know one thing for sure though, if there's one thing in your life that can keep you alive it's making beats focusing on the positive, focusing on doing what you like best and that's music, right?

As you've said yourself, your music might get influenced by your mental state, but that's alright... music can be a great outlet.

Anyways, take care of yourself man, I wish you get better soon.

shits dope man, espescially needle..i love the way you freak those drums too..
i can't fathom what you're going through, but it looks like you're staying positive..one thing i do know quite a lot about is being "mentally fucked"-the most important thing we can do when things are like that is to immerse ourselves in things that make us feel emotions besides the fucked upness.things that inspire us and make us look outside of our situation..music ,books, and movies have gotten me through a lot of rough times.keep being positive, have faith and keep trying to do everything that brings you some happiness, stay up..
while cia plays hide & seek with our lives I've come to try & teach/Iron Fist tiger grip, knuckles white, tight Zion Sun spiked leash "

Yo man... these beats sound great. Mostly cause I can hear you getting better when I listen to em.

You're mad talented juxt. I've found your beats to be straight inspirational from the first time I heard em. Whatever immense struggle you are facing now, just remember that you've been blessed with the gift to create some amazing music.

Hang in there and get better man!

that's a great idea man, it can only be helpful. both these beats are sick, and will get dropped into the iPod where your beat-tape and Arena joints are sitting.

i'm definitely looking forward to hearing more SP-therapy!

thanks everyone. I appreciate your comments. I'll try to cook something good on the SP tomorow :) . The portablility, quick workflow, and all the fx to choose from make the SP such a great machine to ease the mind when your freaking out.

awesome juxt. you've got the gift for the headnoddin beat. the guitar in needle sounds like sound and vision (bowie). i like africa, as its a little weirder and sounds a bit like how king tubby or scratch perry would cut up and delay-drench stuff.

i hope yr feeling good. i hope yr energy keeps up to keep doin this, and i hope, if nothing else, the usual crowd at this forum gives you a bit of energy in return.

finking of ya, bro.

I really like africa, I've been bumpin' it all day. Eligh from the Living Legends also used that sample on one if my favorite Grouch songs.
