I'm still having some trouble doing this. What I've been doing is looking to see the BPM of the sample/loop and then changing the pattern BPM to match it. This is somewhat limiting.
I know that previously people have told me to cut up the sample/loop and place it on the pattern accordingly. Is there an easy way to do this? What's your method?
I obviously dont want to use the "phrase" setting because it time stretches and garbles up the sound (this really sucks ha).

Just make sure you sample one full measure, so that's Kick....Snare....Kick....Snare when your listening to the drums in the song you want to sample. Once you have a full measure sampled and looping perfectly you can put the sample to any tempo in the pattern sequencer that you want as long as you start playing the sample on the first kick in your sequenced drum pattern and stop it at the last snare hit they will always match. It's just how music breaks down mathimatically into certain ratios or fractional representations of it's base form.
thanks for the reply.. you should make a vid homie.
Would help out. Plus I've listened to your cuts on your myspace page and I'm pretty impressed, I'd love to see your techniques.
