A backpack full'o gear

Post by cartesia »

You're being sent out into the world with nothing but a backpack which you will fill with music gear,

what do you take?

me (the reason I'm raising this question is i actually want to do it... one day):

SP-404,
Xiosynth,
SM57 mic,
Zoom H4,
open-ear headphones.. AKG or something

I can honestly say if I had all those things, a bag to carry them in and no burdens to my freedom (debts, bills to pay, etc etc) I would be happy wandering the world with no other possessions.... well maybe pants would be good. :p
Samples.

SP-404
Palm TX loaded with Bhajis Loops and Sunvox
Zoom 505 pedal
Yamaha QYxx/ Yamaha MU15
harmonica?
some sort of small recorder with effects (Tascam/Foster/Boss)
decent mic

maybe a Korg MicroX/Novation Xiosynth..something small and synthy (i realise the Novation is a rompler)
maybe a Mini Kaoss Pad

i'm gonna be heading off into the yonder at the end of this year/start of 09, so this theme is constantly on my mind. ideally, i'd like to use the Palm to produce and create loops/patterns, then have some machine which could help perform/remix them on the fly (with heaps of effects!!) maybe with a synth alongside for melodies/pads and a SP for live drumming

it's a dilemma for sure!
good thread idea man

I heard some talk about some kind of battery-pack mod for the SP-606 and SP-555 about 4 months ago. Never found info on it online, but it would be way cool using those on the go. 8)

A Djembe and a berimbau if we're takin' it way back. If it we have electricity in the equation then I'll bring a sp-404, pt-01, Akg headphones, sm 51 and rechargeable batteries with charge station.

If there's no electricity at all, I'd love to be chillin' with one of those hang-drums!

Djembes are cool too, but I probably prefer Bongos having two of 'em sort of next to eachother.
