is that one that uses the isolator? if so that very much is not a mute group workaround.

it is a track mute/only having 1 track per pattern workaround.

yeah, it's Subsonic rather than Isolator, and is a really nice workaround but still doesn't = mute group

Yeah, your late. It's a dope workaround, I used to use that trick a lot but it has it's advantages and disadvantages.

What about using two samples to create the illusion of a mute group?

Say you wanted to do the traditional hi-hat cutoff. You could have two samples of the closed hat and two of the open hat. The decay on the second sample could be cut short to sound like it has been cut off.

Then, in your pattern, you can just use the cut-off samples to 'sound like' a mute group is being employed.

Bit of a painful workaround, but might be worth a try. I'm glad the 606 has mute groups :P

You should do that with two 303's and use your 606, for the ultimate 606 beat center.

Along the same lines as 606man, what about making samples of the full open and shut hats cycle - "kershick" "shik-tst" kind of?, plus the usual seperate open and closed sounds on another 2 pads of course.

They would be cool, you could also have them in slightly different timing for a more interesting groove.
