when i am recording my drums over a pattern sometimes the other sounds stop playing, can anyone help me

it sounds like you maxed out the poly- if thats the case the best way around it is usually to resample some sounds in mono.

Yeah, you can only have up to 6 samples playing simultaneously. If you then hit another pad, the first sample will stop playing.

If you have a 555 you can also resample your sequences as sampled loops using loop cap. I think there are also some work around ways to get this done on a 404 that you can probably find on here by searching.

well usually when you sample or resample the "stereo" button lights up, just press the "stereo" button again & the light should go out. i just don't remember if you do it first or after, i don't own a 404 anymore but try it & see what happens...

The 303 samples in mono and you have to press the stereo button and when it's lit you can press rec the sample you get will be in stereo.
