Feedback on a medley i made for a school

Post by kristoffer1989 »

Ok so i am graduating out of high school in a week. I am trying to get into a private music school. My main instrument will be laptop and at the audition is in three parts:

1. show some music
2. theory
3. talk about why i want to go there and so on.

Well my live part is gonna be a split. part one will be a premade medley to show some of my musical sides.
The second part is gonne be a loop jam.

I would really digg if someone could give me some feedback on my medley.

:D

AND TO ALL YOU NON-NORWEGIAN-SPEAKING

Thank's for the props here. I think i will skip to James Brown sampling at the end just because i don't think it blend real good with the other tracks. If any other have some input please shout out=)

As i said is a medley so its some diffrent songs.

song 1: nothing special, just a youtube video with a guy playing guitar choped upp and added a drum n bass rythm

then when we are moving on to the arpedgiothing just when the tempo slows down and the reverb takes over its just like a you got to duck from something in slow motion

song 2: the arpedgiothing i think of emptyness, in a good way. space and spaceships or something=)

song 3: a cartoon man a little fat thing cute thing with a mustash wandering in a cave home from his work in a mine.

then the last song i don't know. just many feelings building up.

the james brown part i'm not shure. think i will skip it.

thanks for the props

enig i at james brown datt ut litt, forresten.

i think the jb sample thros in that unexpected leap. yes it can go either way with the crowd but u gotta look @ hiis cult status and the level of respect he commanded. to me its like your showing your confidence like u know u did a dope job. peace

this is nice man
that arpeggiated bit is really sweet, especially the groove which follows it
great melody there too

i think you've mixed these styles up nicely
while still giving every part the space to build up and establish itself

the james brown bit is nice...why are you taking it out?
maybe it doesn't fit the rest...but i think it shows your diversity
to go from ambient to spacey, dancey stuff, to a funky, sample-based groove!

good luck man

i am starting to get really confused about the james brown part. on the one side i think it doesn't blend that good with the others, but on the other hand it makes me wanne get up and dance. and it is really only to show my musical diffrenses so why not.. i will think about it for sure.

the audition will be on tuesday.
