That poll was mad close... coming out on top by one vote, but I'd say still up for discussion in case we need to fine tune the wording or anything...

SP-101: The zen of low budget sampling

Let's start working on some artwork. If anyone has anything they'd like to post up for feedback please do so. If we end up with a lot of cool original artwork we can always composite it with some photoshop slickness.

just had an idea for the cover art...

everyone can take a pic of their SP and upload it or provide link... then we can put them all together in a grid of picture boxes to fill the cover.

That way every SP used in making the mixtape would be on the cover... and we would all be repped by our SP's. I think that would be fat. It would keep to the theme and also show the diversity of machines being used to create the beats within.

This idea could also come together pretty quick once we figure out who's gonna participate in the mix... and actually, it might not be bad at all to ask everyone in the forum to upload a pic of their SP so we could have a bunch of em on there... either way.

Let me know if anyone is feeling this idea. I can put together a sample and post it to show what I'm talking about if there is any interest.

There's an hip hop artist in my country that made an artwork pretty like that, I think that is a good idea.

Right on... nice photos. I think this will look sick when we fill the whole cover with shots of all our SPs. SIDE NOTE: images should be around 300 x 300 pixels to reproduce at 1" x 1" on the cover. I should've mentioned this earlier... if this is a problem we can figure out a work around.

Juxt... nice looking shot man, can you post that pic any larger? If not, no problem. It might pixelate when we bring it up to print resolution... but we can always work around that by throwing on a filter effect or something to bring out the griminess... or even play up the pixelated effect... which would tie in nice with our grimy production steez.

Nice shot skeet. The only thing I would be concerned about is the black and white aspect. If you supply the pic in color we can always take it to black and white later if that looks better in the layout.

i don't have access to a camera at the moment, but i've got a shot of my 404 here

i know alot of us indulge in the good herb, but if anyone objects to the inclusion of a spliff i can take another photo

more nice photos. I'm gonna try to get one up in the next couple days, and then start playing with the layout this weekend. hopefully there will be a lot more pics to come. for now I can duplicate the shots we have to provide room for additional images. keep em coming... :lol:
