Well I finally did it SP-Users!!

Post by Twitch »

Although this may not seem much to anyone else, but to me I'm fucking proud.. I finally can trigger all my sounds from the Sp606 using the Korg Padkontrol.. Yes I mapped out every midi channel..

My advice to Roland you need to clarify on your manual alittle better. Changing the PAD BASE CH (1-9) has nothing to do with mapping the note numbers as you guys claim it does.. You can just stay on channel 1 an it triggers all 16 pad banks (it would be 32 but my Padkontrol only has 16 scenes, YES I can make more, but If I want to create a beat then I need to stay within the 16 scenes/pads at a time)..

NEXT................. I even controlled the sounds and how they roll, flam, hold function by using the infamous Korg XY Pad..

I should make a video on how to do this.. anywayz I thought I would share my long awaited victory..

How can you trigger all 16 banks on one MIDI channel??

That's 256 pads...MIDI only supports 128 notes.

Man.. I love the Pads on the Korg PadKontrol.. It's bigger more accurate in my hits and velocity too..

I will have to explain in the video, But I can explain now alittle.. I think I may have say something wrong pertaining to this, but I will clarify.. Using the KorgPadkontrol I can trigger all 16 banks using my scenes on the PK.. Since the PK has 16 scenes or banks it represents each midi channel, however when you save it as a scene set not scene data it lumps it together as one channel ONLY IF you set it up that way.. this is how the PK can make your midi channels endless.. However I will probably do it the more simpler way now.. Thanks to you, I will probably map out each midi channel to each scene.. So scene 1 will be on midi channel 1 and etc..

That's a good idea indeed.

Mmm, I guess you could start a thread in Production Techniques called SP movies or something and then make a rule to post only SP-related movies there (and no comments?).
