Pattern Question

Post by hooray »

Hi

I just received a SP-303 this week and got a question concerning patterns.
As it is not possbible to play 2 patterns at the same time, is it possible to add something to a saved pattern?

For Example:
I flipped a sample, saved it and now I wanna add some bass+drums.

Hope somebody can help me, thanks in advance

You can't play two patterns at once.

You can edit a pattern. Just hit Pattern Select, REC, then press the pad which has the pattern you want to edit (it shouldn't be lit up). Hit REC again, and then -4,-3,-2,-1 BLASTOFF. You can add things to the pattern, and you can take things out as well - to do this, you press DEL (while the pattern is playing), then hold down the sample's pad you want to delete. When you are done deleting the portions you want out, hit DEL again and you're back in the regular pattern record mode and anything you touch will be added to the pattern.

Welcome to the 303 world.

thx Olerud, it works fine
the sp-303 is awsome, love it

I also got another question, can I change the pads for patterns??

For Example:
I made a pattern and the snare is at BankC/4, I already saved the pattern but I want to put the snare on BankA/4. When i just change the pad, the pattern still want to take it from BankC/4.

thanks in advance

Because it remembers the pad that was sequenced not the sample. Just select pattern, rec and then delete press delete and hold down C/4 through the whole pattern to erase it, then sequence A/4 in the place of C/4 and your done.
