Just got the 404 - Having scoured the manual i'm drawing a blank on this question...
Say i'm running the SP on batteries during the day - when I get back to my house - and run on mains power, do I have to take the batteries out to do this?
Surely it won't hurt to leave them in and run on mains at the same time?
Yeah, it's no problem at all to leave the batteries in. When the 404 is plugged in, it will automatically bypass the batteries, thus saving their power.
hey just so you know, rechargeable AAs work just fine. if you play on the go a lot investing in rechargeables and a descent charger will save you lots of bread in the long term.

do you have the one where the pastor says the only way to avoid eternal damnation is through our lord and savior christ?thats also the one that says even people that live in parts of the world where christianity doesnt exist will somehow encounter christianity in their lifetime and be saved, thus avoiding hell.its the same guy that believes gahndi, malcom x,all the early native americans and jews are in hell, too.

Easy bro. No one's trying to start a religious debate here. The kid was just stating his hobby. Can we jump back on topic here?
get real!
xXx you cuss way more than you should on here to be saying christ alive and dru; rise above it man.
on the original tip; i was wonderin' this just the other day. so how do you know it bypasses the batteries. i believe you but i just feel like, in the past, it didn't do this but again, I'm not sure.
the batteries are "behind" the power supply in the circuit so when you turn it on the components inside that make everything work, wake up and need some energy they try to get some juice, and the juice coming from the power supply is in the front of the fridge, so they grab that juice instead of the batteries.
if someone leaves the power supply juice out on the counter (unplugged) then when you turn it on the batteries juice is closest.
roland/boss has decades of years of experience building circuits for their effects boxes that can run on either battery or a power adapter. they've got it down.
