for some reason i think vinyl sim was new on the 404... or maybe just the compressor part of it was new, or something like that. i don't remember. i shouldn't even be saying anything then, i'm not helping at all.

im just gonna add my opinion here.

unless your MPC 1k is totally fucked and by that i mean its broken (you can get the pad fix) then i would reconsider selling it if you already haven't

for straight production you can do more stuff with a 404 AND the 1K. there are a lot of wakai haters on here but the MPCs are still really nice machines. for production just route your audio directly into the 404 and then that into the 1k and when your done with a project bounce everything back to the 404. a quick cable switch is all thats needed.

im in love with my 404 and i simply love the workflow on it but for more complicated projects sometimes things can get hectic.

for live performances, routing your MPC into the 404 will allow you to drop some dope live drums if your into that sort of ish.

MPCs are not as powerful as software.

why are they popular?

because of workflow.

but the workflow of the 404 kills the MPC series (IMO) with the 1k and 404 combo you kinda got the best of both worlds situation going on. especially with the JJOS the 1k is actually pretty dope.

that's just my opinion because i too wanted to add another 404 (or 303) to my set-up but decided i would be doing more because of a combination of gear lust and my utter love for the SP.

MPC+404 and wait for the SP-707 to drop.

Thanx for that much input guys.
The last days were a see-saw like
I hate this decisions... I already got my 1k at ebay but the end of the auction is coming to fast for me... Now, that I know "she" is leaving, our love got inflamed again. The last words of HotSauce made me think about my plan... I proberbly never get that much money back in my hands to get a mpc again. I wanted to sell that akai-ass cause I really need the money right now, bur who cares about money when you're in love?!

I dunno how religious you guys are  but in the last days there were a few signs that showed me to stay with that fxxxing mpc. Crazy, I tell ya.
First thing was: After I brought up my mpc at ebay, my account was deleted by ebay for no reason! 3..2..1.. no Access. No joke!
After a friend "gave" me his account and from that day there were no 404's available at ebay. Normally there are at least 20 machines (incl. ebay-shops) you could buy, now that I want one, there's nuthing...
That f***ing scared the shit outta me...
In the end: I decided to cancel my ebay-auction, send back my new 404-faceplate and midi-synchronizer. Life is much more complex, if ya don't know what ya want... 8)

amen

unplug the mpc1000 and go outside with it. hold the mpc to the sky and ask God "why".

I dont think cisco is an actual word, just a name.

heeeeeeeeeeeeey, cisco,

aiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiightttttt, pancho

thanks for heads up on the quad thru midisplitter, mr inspector.

I ordered one 2day - still thinking of getting another 404 for myself - but for the moment can drive my current one and a drum machine pattern/song via my trusty zoom mrs4 clock.

and he wasn't the disaster that was the Milky Bar Kid -

anybody still got that jingle in their head?

"oohhhhhhhhh.....
the Milky Bar Kid is tough and strong
the Milky Bar Kid just can't go wrong
the Milky Bar Kid always eats what's right.."

dare you to finish it.

come on.

hopefully it was only an aussie embarrassment.

("hmmmm, what's that , skip? Bushfire at the billabong ? tkk tkk tkk tkkk)
