Mixtape Name/Theme

Let's get some discussion going about the name and theme of this joint.

As I stated in the last thread, I would vote against including "sp-forums" in the name. There are lots of reasons for doing this... mainly to preserve the current state of affairs on the boards, which I assume everyone is happy with. This place is really cool and I don't think giving it any kind of promotion is necessary nor will it yield anything good in the long run. We want to promote the beats we all make... and prolly the common production thread they all share... the SP.

How bout something like, "The Way of the SP"? Or something addressing the fact that we are using sample based production steez like, "Sample Ninjas"? The ninja thing prolly doesn't appeal to everybody, but I just threw that out ther to get things rolling.

When do I have to bring up the tracks... ? You know I got nothing yet and I'm rebuilding my "studio" right now (sell equipment, get new...) so it might take a while...

I like "The SP-Club"... sounds kinda gay but cool somehow...
would be a timeless name, I guess...
Maybe anybody could bring up a poll if the thoughts are out grown?

are we gonna get someone (possibly on the forum??) to master it.

i don't want to get into the discussion of mixing mastering. so i will just say that mixing is messing with the individual tracks on the song wheras mastering is where you have the finished article (ie. the song) and you add slight touches from there but you don't have access to the "master". yeah confusing.


like the beat-tape would obviously contain a lot of different styles and to stop it sounding like an incoherent mess it would be nice to have volumes similiar throughout.

even different machines that record at a similar levels sound way off which is not even taking into account style changes. someone should master it (i missed it, is someone going to already, late to the conversation) but to make that easier all who submit should submit on a specific format/file share site/bit rate etc...
why isn't there a cent symbol on the keyboard, iwas say my 2$ but with cent sign, whatever.

We should use the fact that all of our sp's are in the hundreds. Maybe something like "100s of SPs" orrrr "SP 101" - that would be dope.
