M-AUDIO Trigger Finger contolling SP-808

Post by blast1 »

has anybody successfully make this work? i followed the manual but the trigger finger is not sending MIDI notes into the SP-808, i was able to do it once, i had a sample on pad 14 on the 808 & was able to trigger it from pad 1 on the trigger finger, weird? the trigger finger is used by the way. it must be the trigger finger cause i was able to set the midi parameters on the 808 accordingly.

Do you use the Trigger Finger because of it sends the velocity to the 808? I'm intrigued as to your use of this on the 808...

Triggerfinger works great with the SP-808 you can even switch pad banks with it.

so you can use a midi controller to control the pads on the 808. i have yet to figure this out and havent seen anything int he manual about it. Id like to do this because the 808 pads are so small.

im trying to figure that out myself. Says nothing in the manual about it. MIDI has always been a mystery to me. Ive only got things to work with Machine Control and Midi Clock, controlling pads and all that is something ive yet to accomplish.

holy shit it worked. Thanks jbl. Im sort of pre-typing because i just got the 808 to make a sound when i hit my mpd's pad and it did it, now i just have to figure out how to make the 16 pads the same on both units. Now my pad one on the mpd triggers 16 on the 808, but its smooth sailing from now.
Fuck Yeah, tiny pads no more.

the mpd16 and the 808 were made for each other. now just get the 4track in the mix and you'll be laying down some beeeeeeeeeets.
