is this a CF card problem?

Hi all. I got my first new sp-404 last month and bought a sandisk ultra II 1gig card new off ebay. Then whenever I tried sampling or resampling to the C-J banks it would crackle, or be inconsistent or left or right would cut out if resampling a stereo sample. Resampling to internal banks was fine. So, I assumed the card was bad and bought another of the same kind off ebay and it did the exact same thing! Also, now if I put in the new card the SP will turn on, scroll through the SP 404 thing then go dead. Nothing works. I turn it off, take out the card, turn it on and all's good when no card's in.

Anybody see this before? Do I just buy a third card and make sure it's not a Sandisk ultra II 1gig? Or does it sound like a problem with the SP?

some guys have the same problem....is the compactflash....change it, i dont use this card into my sp-404, but some people yes, i use SANDISK TYPE 1 1GB (COLOR RED AND BLUE)....but here (in argentina) is not available now....

anyway...i try anothers cards in the next week, and then post the name.

ya thats a card issue
