Thanks for the heads up!KUDOS wrote: WARNING⚠︎⚠︎⚠︎: THERE ARE A FEW, COMO SE DICE, "MICROWAVE" STYLE BEATS ON HERE, SO KEEP SOME EAR PLUGS HANDY. SOMETIMES I JUST SMASHED LO-FI 1 ON THE 202, LATHERED IN SOME VINYL SIM, AND VOMITED SOME DRUMS OVER THE ISH BECAUSE I MAKE WHAT SOUNDS GOOD AND DURABLE TO MY EARS RATHER THAN WHAT ENDEARS ME TO STRANGERS ON THE INTERNET.

Oof, yeah, that hit me right in the... nope, you've lost me. Maybe if I listen to it first, it'll all become clear. Wadded up panties at the ready...KUDOS wrote:OR DOES THAT HIT A LITTLE TOO CLOSE TO HOME?
as you probably know, I've liked some of your tracks as well. "Dormir" and your live 202 beat are the real thing. but I rag on you in the original post because it's starting to feel like your snarky comments aren't based on an actual set of principles (other than hackneyed "software is for softies" ish) but just a reflexive grumpiness. like I'm sympathetic to your view that SPs should be prioritized in the arena (some exceptions would be for those who can't afford/are traveling without one) but I find it rich that you insist on the rules so much and then tried to call a close battle before the deadline that the host set. and I resent your suggestion that what we do is some type of lo-fi "racket," especially when we all know what the real "lo-fi" hip hop racket has done to the world's perception of what we do (when they see us at all). to me the lo-fidelity/noisiness you are complaining about is one of the things that links us to a broader world of experimental/DIY music; I've turned many rock, punk, noise, etc. heads onto beat music by showing them SPF/SPF-adjacent stuff. a lot of people just don't know this kind of thing (still) exists.MicrophonesInt'Trees wrote:I actually quite liked a few of the tracks off it. Just, y'know... a bit unnecessarily noisy in parts.
