SOMETIMES I JUST SMASHED LO-FI 1 ON THE 202, LATHERED IN SOME VINYL SIM, AND VOMITED SOME DRUMS OVER THE ISH BECAUSE I MAKE WHAT SOUNDS GOOD AND DURABLE TO MY EARS RATHER THAN WHAT ENDEARS ME TO STRANGERS ON THE INTERNET.
Thanks for the heads up!

I actually quite liked a few of the tracks off it. Just, y'know... a bit unnecessarily noisy in parts.

Oof, yeah, that hit me right in the... nope, you've lost me. Maybe if I listen to it first, it'll all become clear. Wadded up panties at the ready...

as you probably know, I've liked some of your tracks as well. "Dormir" and your live 202 beat are the real thing. but I rag on you in the original post because it's starting to feel like your snarky comments aren't based on an actual set of principles (other than hackneyed "software is for softies" ish) but just a reflexive grumpiness. like I'm sympathetic to your view that SPs should be prioritized in the arena (some exceptions would be for those who can't afford/are traveling without one) but I find it rich that you insist on the rules so much and then tried to call a close battle before the deadline that the host set. and I resent your suggestion that what we do is some type of lo-fi "racket," especially when we all know what the real "lo-fi" hip hop racket has done to the world's perception of what we do (when they see us at all). to me the lo-fidelity/noisiness you are complaining about is one of the things that links us to a broader world of experimental/DIY music; I've turned many rock, punk, noise, etc. heads onto beat music by showing them SPF/SPF-adjacent stuff. a lot of people just don't know this kind of thing (still) exists.

I get that every scene is gonna play some things out, but I think you should make an argument for your sensibility through your own work, or at least just present your criticism in a more convincing way. feels like you are just hating/overstating rather than being constructive. but maybe you really thought the battle was that bad, I dunno. in any case, I still think you should touch grass for a while and perhaps some ass, if you can swing it :D :D

big unc's support means everything - thank u forevers dood. we had alot of fun putting this together for the young kudos.

although the cassette tape has a special mix that i think makes this project even cooler than it already is i am glad to know it's still being jammed to digitally deep within the forests of san francisco (where uncle jesse is known to live with his friends and family).

shoot me your address so i can send this bad boy your way though:
