I just bought my 4th SP303 in as many years (like a junkie, I just can't quit) and, this time, as I was giving it what my french friend the Jibmaster General would call a "knob bath", I noticed that there was a gap in the casing for another button directly underneath where 'Pattern Sequencer' is written.
Anyone know what this was supposed to be? Or any guesses? A Song Sequencer perhaps? Looking at the 404/SX, nothing's been added in that area that's not on the 303, so it was obviously a feature they didn't go on to add to the later ones either. I wonder...?

Yeah, that's what I mean. It's like they planned for it to be something but changed design at the last minute.. Like, they manufactured the cases before settling on the PCB design and functions, then designed the overlay to cover it up. Reckon it might've been a song sequencer. Shame they didn't do that.
