My profile says I joined in 2007 and made 957 posts. Damn. There was a heyday for me getting away from DAW and bought/modified a few SP. 404SX (my fav) modded the mic and added jacks- fried it w wrong PSU, 505 I still have left, 555, 202, 303. Was a good 10yr down time. Had tons of fun w resample challenges and a few BB back then. Recently dusted off the 505. Been enjoying it when I make time for it. Not sure I like the work flow that much TBH. Hiking, making/playing loops w guitar I really enjoy. Not much activity on the BB these days but really glad the forums are still here. Was very excited about the mk2 but have not picked one up. I might- I had a lot of fun w my 404SX and battery pack sometimes. Also interested in a stand alone recorder like the ZoomR24. Any way you slice it you gotta make the time and make the music no matter what the tools and I get so much satisfaction making/playing w loops on my guitar rig I don't do much beyond that.

MKII looks dope but don't feel I need it right now.

Remember when I first got my original 404 this place was dope. Nowadays I have a mk2 and a whole bunch of other junk filling up my room but been getting back to my roots, simpllifying.. too many choices for my ADD brain these days.

I joined in 2017. I've been interested in the SP since Madlib used one for the Madvillain album but never got any. Sp202, Sp303, Sp404 lacked a midi out and I just could'nt stand it. It still remains an aberration to me. Adding to my horrified posture towards this piece of equipment was the use of resampling. I was willing to suffer SCSI hell but this, a solely MIDI IN device. I still lurk around the blossoming Sp community like Gargamel would around the Smurfs enjoying themselves in their village. I want you to keep partying, the beatscene concept wasn't granted with labels defunct, going left or opportunistic. I surely missed something but not to listen to some good beat tapes of yours. If I own an Sp404mk2 in the coming days I'll still ask myself if I was brainwashed by one of your fellow, Dibia$e, or if the tariffs policy of Trump finally made me kneel to the almighty Sp workflow. I wanted to catch vibes and caught vapors, am I that computer guy hoping to break through in vaporwave ? Could I redeem myself by resampling ?

Picked up a 404 mk2 last year. Trying to get into it again but the button combos are annoying. Just saying what's up. I think I qualify as an old-timer.

I still have my 303 that I bought brand new brand new and will never sell it.
Still have a 404 OG that I bought brand new. It works great but it looks like it went through a war.

Reporting for duty armed with working 404SX, 404mk2 & 2 606s. Got the Digitakt, Electribe SX & Koala sampler as backups.

I disappeared around 2015 because my laptop died & I just felt like I could do without the internet for a bit. That went for about 7 years. Once I was back online this place was deader than it is now, so I stayed away. Stoked to see the arena’s going strong these days!

Sleeps - that sample pack for battle 396 was just too good to skip.
