Kim gordon new album

Post by asha c »

Anyone heard the new Kim gordon album? I was pleasantly surprised when I heard it! Some nice dark, industrial and phonky beats!!!
Crazy to think she’s 70 years old and still pushing her own musical boundaries! I loved Sonic youth growing up but to me some of it sounds kidve dated now! But definitely enjoying kim gordons sound on this album!

Has some brief moments for me but whole album could have been just fine in a single 2min track. Appreciate she is making art. Removed from my library. :)

I always found Sonic Youth frustrating for what sounds like the same reason as this album has - flashes of greatness and/or niiiiice pop songs but with a lot of artibollox dirge crap to get thru. Always found their name hilarious since they are the same age as my parents, lol. Their later albums that I bought, like NY Ghosts & Flowers, only got listened to once.

One of my 'lame claims to "fame"' is interviewing Steve Albini in his chalet at the first ATP and Thurston Moore just sauntering in, lol.
Up yer bumz.

ROTH well said. I liked a couple of tracks on Murray Street from 2002. Cool interview story- Kim shared in an interview that he was angry at them for "selling out" signing to Geffen while he took lots of corporate money in his own work. Might be cool to go through their albums and make a favs list.
